The choir is a registered organization under the department of sacred music and communications (DSMC) of the Marthoma Church. As per the DSMC rules and guidelines an audition was held in November 2008 to select members to be in the choir for the year 2009-2011. After the audition about 92 members were selected to the choir both Malayalam and English.
